360 Degrees – Circles – Macro Micro Cosmic Connection (2014 – present)

When I reached 60 years of age, I began focusing on circles. 360 degrees at 60 years had a certain ring, rightness, and fascination. I see circles as representing wholeness, perfection, life, seed, cell, and planet, but also movement and stillness, time and timelessness.

Working with the circle is both exciting and liberating. So much of my experience in composition had been based on the rectangle – the viewfinder – the page – with their linear sides and distinct top and bottom orientation. Working with the circle allows me to think, see, and consider composition in a different and more nuanced way.
